Tasting rooms

One room, as many bottles as you like

01

Open a room

One person opens a tasting room and gets a six-letter code. Only the host does this.

02

Send the link once

Everyone joins from their own phone, with an account or as a guest. No app to install.

03

Pour bottle after bottle

The host adds a wine, everyone plays it together, then the next one. Scores add up across the whole evening.

Perfect for a dinner, a five-bottle tasting, or a birthday. The room stays open all night, so you never resend the link.

Questions

Good to know

What is Sipstars?

Sipstars is a free wine aroma game. You scan a wine bottle (or search for it), then try to identify the wine's signature aromas by smell: a fun, social way to learn wine tasting and train your nose, solo or with friends.

Isn't wine about taste, not smell?

Almost everything you "taste" in wine is actually smell. Your tongue only senses five basic things (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, savoury) while all the character, the cherry, the pepper, the oak, reaches you through your nose even as you sip. So whether you sniff or drink, it's your nose doing the work.

How do I play with friends?

Pick a wine, tap "Taste with friends," and share the room link or QR code. Everyone tastes the same wine at once, and a live leaderboard shows who has the sharpest nose.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Sipstars runs in any modern web browser. You can also add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.

Is Sipstars free?

Yes. Playing, scanning bottles, and building your cellar are all free.
